People who do law are often asked why they decided to do law. Here are some of the answers that I often get:
I got the marks
I didn't know what else to do
Law is this century's equivalent of a liberal arts degree
Law is a great starting point
I wanted to branch off into journalism/foreign affairs
I couldn't get into medicine
I didn't want to be unemployed
Why not?
Less common reasons (and definitely not my reasons):
The law pulsates through my veins - I love the law.
I wanted to make a lot of money.
Money, power, glory.
